OUR STORY
When you think about lacrosse, the Midwest probably doesn't top your list of hot spots, and chances are, Wisconsin didn't even make your list. But that doesn't mean we love lacrosse any less than the rest of the country. And now with Division 1 Marquette University Lacrosse winning games right here in our own back yard, the popularity of the sport in the Midwest, for boys and girls, is gaining momentum and drawing the attention of a whole new audience.
Humble BeginningsMy involvement with lacrosse began in the mid-90's, when my husband played in college and later coached the first high school team in Milwaukee. We continued our involvement in the area by helping develop youth lacrosse programs in Southeastern Wisconsin. My role included everything from designing team logos and t-shirts, to lining fields at 6:00 a.m., photographing the action on the field, and now watching my own kids play. Lacrosse has become a pretty important part of my everyday life.

I thought of the name TriqShot HQ (Headquarters) several years before I ever considered starting a "sports brand". It's a fun name that can be unique to lacrosse, but also has the potential to encompass several different sports/activities, should I ever want to branch out. At the time, starting a sports-related side biz was nothing more than a vague idea in the back of my mind. It sounded fun, but didn't seem very practical. As a busy graphic designer, taking on more responsibility was not really an option, but then I found myself using my free time to sketch logo ideas, brainstorm business plans and ask all the important "what if's".
Eventually, I shared the idea of creating a "brand", with a friend, and to my surprise he thought it sounded plausible. Several months went by; I had a few more brainstorms, did a little research and basically couldn't get the idea out of my head. But it wasn't until late one night, standing in my friend's kitchen in Kansas City, with a little push and a lot of encouragement, that I decided to go for it.
A few weeks later, on June 1, 2019, TriqShot HQ was officially launched.

So why the Monkey?Why not? Monkeys are fun! What's so fun about a Goat?
Oh yeah, "Greatest Of All Time"...It's an acronym, I get it...they just got lucky. Maybe WE need an acronym: Make Other Neighborhood Kids Envy You ...Or perhaps we skip the acronym and just let our designs speak for themselves. Monkey's okay with that too. It's time to run with the Monkeys! |
